Evolve flow

1. 1

   Obtain

   A hero arrives Unsigned: rarity and alignment are known, potential and Prodigy show as ???.

2. 2

   Sign the Contract

   Pay gold to sign. This reveals the potential grade (Plain → Exceptional) and whether it is a Prodigy.

3. 3

   Level up

   10 levels per star. Growth per level comes from the rarity range; potential picks the spot inside it.

4. 4

   Evolve

   At the level cap, spend a star material plus the hero's alignment stone to gain a star and its rank.

Heroes

Each card shows the hero at its starting star and its higher-star look at its normal max star, animated as an 8-frame idle or walk loop. Prodigies go two stars further.

Shown worn on the shared body. Common to Epic items are always Neutral; Legendary items come in Holy, Dark and Primal; Artifact items come in all four alignments.

Village map

A separate top-down set for the map where heroes live; the side-on sprites above are only for fights. Terrain tiles are seam-blended and come in three variants each, with decals scattered by material. Buildings have their baked plinths stripped, are all lit from the top-left, and stand on an earth apron with a cast shadow and contact shading. Walls are tiles drawn as half-tile arms, so corners, towers and the gate join, and the wall throws its own shadow. The build refuses any layout where art overlaps or leaves the map.

World map

The zoomed-out layer: villages are one cell each and grow through five stages; between them are biomes, resource nodes that supply the evolution materials, dungeons that drop star materials, rivers, roads and ocean. Same camera and grid as the village view.
